I read a story in the ajc today about how some kid was paid by six other kids to take the SAT for them. What I want to know is how that is even possible and also how much was he paid. I have only taken the test twice and both times I found it hard to even manage cheating on it. The schools where you take them always have those crazy ass moms who are making sure that you are who you say you are. It also sucks because people who were probably really hoping to get in to the schools they wanted to go to might not because someone who cheated on their SATs did better than he or she.
"The students had registered to take the tests at a different school where they would not be recognized. Eshaghoff then went to the schools and showed a photo ID with his picture, but another student's name on it, Rice said. At least once, Eshaghoff flew home from college primarily to impersonate two students and took the SAT twice in one weekend."
I guess the SAT board needs to do a better job of verifying that a student is who he says he is.
"Tom Ewing, a spokesman for The College Board, which sponsors the SAT tests, applauded the district attorney's office and school officials, and said it cooperated with the investigation."
Well that is nice to know that they are cooperating, but what steps are being taken to assure people that cheating will not occur again?
